WWII flying ace and local resident of Bare Village, Harry Hiley celebrated his 100th birthday on the 8th February with a specially commisioned cake decorated with his old squadron's emblem and motto,
NEC TIMEO - NEC SPERNO;
("I neither fear nor despise")
Harry was also thrilled to receive a telegram from the Queen on the morning of his 100th birthday. I hope that you all join together and wish this great man and his wife, Dorothy all the very best for the future.
